For my birthday last Sunday, my man surprised me with three days at a stunning boutique hotel in Bath. The hotel interior design was absolutely gorgeous - light and airy with painted French furniture, chandeliers, fresh flowers and lavender. There was even Edith Piaf playing during breakfast. I felt utterly spoilt and did not want to leave!
The hotel was called Brindleys and according to The Times it is one of the coolest places to stay in the UK. I can understand why. The further details can be found here.
On Friday night I had half planned my wedding outfit - and by half I mean bag. The bag, a 60s beaded one, was purchased last year from an antique shop in Leominster. It was far too pretty to leave behind.
I was asked to be the official wedding blogger on Saturday when I attended the wedding of Helen (my man's sister) and Dom. The wedding theme was purple, and many guests arrived in shades of purple, lilac and mauve. Dom wore some purple Lego cuff links, the wedding car - a Figaro - sported a purple ribbon and the wedding cake was covered in tiny purple flowers. The little details, and personal touches, are the things I especially love about weddings.
On arrival at the reception venue I was thrilled to see chickens and rabbits roaming around. I must have taken about thirty out of focus shots of rabbits. Who knew rabbits could move so quickly?
Helen and Dom are currently on their honeymoon in the Maldives, so I hope they enjoy seeing their 'official wedding blog post' on their return.
A trip to the Cotswolds would not be complete without a browse around Station Mill Antiques Centre. I was last there in May, so I thought it was time to revisit. There seemed to be a few new dealers, and as always it was full of beautiful vintage treasures. I wanted the blue retro floral print cushion in the second photograph, but I resisted. Here are a few iPhone shots and as you will see there was a lot of tempting stuff!
Last weekend I spent a wonderful day in The Cotswolds with friends. We visited Batsford Arboretum, which now has its very own antique shop called The Applestore, followed by Moreton-in-Marsh - for a lovely lunch at Tilly's - then Station Mill Antiques Centre in Chipping Norton. Here are the photographs taken at Batsford.
